Causal Interaction between FDI, Corruption and Environmental Quality in the MENA Region

The present work analyzes the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) and corruption on quality environment in MENA region. Indeed, magnitude institutions are often cited as main factors affecting FDI inflow. Here, Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach was used to examine data a group countries from 1990 2016. Our findings verify Environmental Kuznets Curve. Furthermore, empirical estimates approve “pollution haven” hypothesis, which postulates that polluting industrial activities developed shift developing have less stringent environmental regulations. Based study findings, we recommend greater awareness harmful effects among political economic actors.
