چکیده
Abstract There has been a great deal of focus on the optimization tuyere arrangements in SKS bottom blown copper smelting furnaces since last decade, as improved furnace operation efficiency technology potential that cannot be ignored. New – x + 0 deg with 14 tuyeres are proposed this research paper. Using previously verified numerical model, CFD tests velocity distribution and wall shear stress for scaled-down models were conducted, constant total volumetric gas flow rate, different operating parameters cross-section geometries. The results indicate that, at relatively low injection speed compared optimized arrangement, although +0 unable to supply enhanced agitation typical round furnaces, they achieve better performance elliptical furnaces. At comparatively higher speed, can improve while maintaining an acceptable side wall. enhancement − essentially attributed stronger interactions between bubble plumes walls. To further exploit advantages new arrangements, angle was confirmed by full-scale model simulation.

CFD Analysis of Single and Multiphase Flow Characteristics in Elbow
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of singlephase and two-phase flow was performed in a 90 degree horizontal to vertical elbow with 12.7 mm inside diameter. Characteristic flow behavior was investigated at six different upstream and downstream locations of the elbow. To evaluate the effects of different phases, three different air velocities and three different water velocities were us...
متن کاملUpscaled Modeling in Multiphase Flow Applications
In the paper we consider upscaling of multiphase flow in porous media. We propose numerical techniques for upscaling of pressure and saturation equations. Extensions and applications of these approaches are considered in the paper. Numerical examples are presented.
متن کاملModeling Multiphase Flow with Phase Transitions in Porous Media
A new approach to model multiphase flow in porous media with phase appearance and disappearance is to use nonlinear complementarity constraints. In addition to the standard mass balance equations for mulitphase flow, a set of complementarity constraints are added in order to handle the phase transitions. This results in a larger system of nonlinear equations, which is non-smooth in general. The...

متن کاملModeling multiphase flow using fluctuating hydrodynamics.
Fluctuating hydrodynamics provides a model for fluids at mesoscopic scales where thermal fluctuations can have a significant impact on the behavior of the system. Here we investigate a model for fluctuating hydrodynamics of a single-component, multiphase flow in the neighborhood of the critical point. The system is modeled using a compressible flow formulation with a van der Waals equation of s...
