چکیده
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of controlled hypotension on cerebral oxygen saturation and postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) in patients undergoing nasal surgery.
Materials Methods: Forty were randomized by a sealed envelope method into two drug groups: esmolol (Group E, n=20) or nitroglycerin N, administration prior surgical incision. The functions evaluated Mini-Mental State Examination Test 1 day before after operation. Regional was monitored with near-infrared spectroscopy detect desaturation.
Results: desired mean arterial blood pressure (50-65 mmHg) could be achieved all groups. A decline function occured 16 (40%) at 24th hour. There no statistically significant difference between groups terms POCD. relationship POCD desaturation status.
Conclusion: Cerebral seen during hypotensive anesthesia may cause early development, therefore we think that close hemodynamic monitoring preserve functions.

Changes in Cerebral Oxygenation during Transfusion Therapy.
This study assesses the effects of transfusion of autologous or allogeneic blood on cerebral and tissue oxygenation during spinal surgery. Packed red blood cell transfusions are indicated to improve oxygen delivery to tissues. There are limited data demonstrating changes in tissue oxygenation with blood administration. Tissue (deltoid) and cerebral oxygenation were monitored using near-infrared...
متن کاملAutoregulation of cerebral blood flow during controlled hypotension in baboons.
The effect of graded, progressive hypotension on the autoregulation of cerebral blood flow was studied in anaesthetised baboons. Progressive hypotension was produced over a period of four to five hours, either by graded haemorrhage or by the administration of increasing concentrations of hypotensive drugs. During haemorrhagic hypotension autoregulation was maintained until the mean arterial pre...
متن کاملChanges in cerebral oxygenation and haemodynamics during postural blood pressure changes in patients with autonomic failure.
Patients with autonomic failure suffer severe postural hypotension that may be associated with symptoms of cerebral hypoperfusion. This study utilized near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to measure changes in cerebral oxygenation and haemodynamics during the head-up tilt table test in 18 patients with autonomic failure and 10 healthy age-matched volunteers. Heart rate, blood pressure (MAP), oxyge...

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to evaluate the changes in cerebral hemodynamics, tissue oxygenation and blood flow before and after surgery for spontaneous intracerebral hematomas. METHODS Eleven patients who underwent surgical decompression of spontaneous putaminal hematoma were studied. Intracranial pressure (ICP), cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP), brain tissue oxygen (PtiO2), and ca...
متن کاملCerebral oxygenation during cardiopulmonary bypass.
Cerebral fractional oxygen extraction (FOE) was monitored in 30 children, using near infrared spectroscopy during cardiopulmonary bypass, to investigate the effect of hypothermia and circulatory arrest. One group of children (n = 15) underwent profound hypothermia with total circulatory arrest (n = 8) or continuous flow (n = 7). Another group (n = 15), of whom only one had circulatory arrest, u...
