Changes in strain parameters at different deterioration levels of left ventricular function: A cardiac magnetic resonance feature-tracking study of patients with left ventricular noncompaction
نویسندگان
چکیده
BackgroundThere is a lack of cardiac MRI information on left ventricular (LV) strain and rotational parameters noncompaction (LVNC) patients with reduced ejection fraction (EF). Thus, we sought to use feature tracking (FT) describe these changes at different levels EF deterioration.MethodsWe included 31 adult LVNC LV (Group B, < 50%) without any comorbidities or concomitant diseases, age- sex-matched good A, > healthy controls. Group B was divided according into two subgroups B-1: 35–50%, B-2: 35%). Their global longitudinal, circumferential (GCS), radial (GRS) strains; segmental apical basal rotation values; patterns degree dyssynchrony were measured.ResultsAll the mean significantly worse in Groups B-1 B-2 than A The mechanical dispersion increased as decreased. highest control group, almost same lowest reverse direction B-2. pattern, clockwise-directed rigid body (RBR), found 39% patients, counterclockwise-directed RBR 26% patients.ConclusionsThe values changed These affected LV, did not identify an LVNC-specific pattern.

Differences in left ventricular strain measurements between cine DENSE cardiac magnetic resonance and SSFP feature tracking
Background Left ventricular (LV) mechanics (e.g., strain) provide a clinically relevant description of LV function. Automated endocardial feature tracking (FT) for steady state free precession (SSFP) images is increasingly used to quantify strain, yet accuracy limitations have been noted. Furthermore, similarities between FT and global strain calculated from endocardial contour lengths have bee...

Extended abstract Echocardiographic Evaluation of Left Ventricular Function and Geometry in Pediatric Patients with Kidney Transplantation Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is an important, leading cause of mortality and morbidity in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) as well as in renal transplant recipients. Cardiovascular complications become more important in children because of the i...
متن کاملLeft ventricular twist abnormalities in patients with left ventricular non-compaction. A cardiovascular magnetic resonance study
Background Current morphologic left ventricular (LV) non-compaction (LVNC) criteria seem to be still insufficient. The prevalence of borderline degree of LV hypertrabeculation is far more frequent than initially expected. LV twist and strain values are proposed as potential new functional parameters supplementing the classic morphologic LVNC criteria. The aim of this study was to assess diagnos...
متن کاملcardiac magnetic resonance imaging findings in a patient with ebstein’s anomaly and left ventricular dysfunction
ebstein anomaly is characterized by apical displacement of the septal and posterior tricuspid valve leaflets, leading to atrialization of the right ventricle and could be diagnosed in a routine transthoracic echocardiography exam. we reported a young man with right sided heart failure symptoms who was found to have biventricular failure with suspected apical displacement of septal leaflet of tr...
متن کاملLeft and right ventricular dyssynchrony and strains from cardiovascular magnetic resonance feature tracking do not predict deterioration of ventricular function in patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot
BACKGROUND Patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot (rTOF) suffer from progressive ventricular dysfunction decades after their surgical repair. We hypothesized that measures of ventricular strain and dyssynchrony would predict deterioration of ventricular function in patients with rTOF. METHODS A database search identified all patients at a single institution with rTOF who underwent cardiov...
