Changing the service model: utilizing tutor center models for reference desk redesign

In 2015, the Research and Instructional Services Unit of Meyer Library at Missouri State University was challenged to update rethink current service model space. We had been operating in a traditional reference model, including large, walkup desk that staffed primarily by faculty librarians. After reviewing literature, it decided some form reference/research point should be kept but completely revamped fit research needs campus community changing demands on Various library models those used tutoring centers were reviewed reframe our own model. This paper outlines process for researching, designing, implementing new space subsequent change organization, resulting combined desk.
