Characterization of Dielectric Substrates Using Dual Band Microwave Sensor

In this work, a compact, inexpensive, and efficient dual band microwave sensor is proposed. The based on two Complementary Symmetric Split-Ring Resonators (CSSRRs) possesses high $Q$ factor wide sensing range. These CSSRRs are coupled electrically with inductive patches to the Microstrip Transmission Line (MTL). This combination provides bands, first at 5.35 GHz notch depth of -55.20 dB second 7.99 -22.54 dB. works in transmission mode senses shift frequency. Some commonly available dielectric substrates relative permittivity ranges between 1 12 considered Material Under Test (MUT), detailed sensitivity analysis being performed for each band. fabricated low-cost, widely FR4 substrate measured by CEYEAR AV3672D vector network analyzer.
