Characterization of Neutron Reaction Rates in Different Irradiation Channels of the CNESTEN’s TRIGA Mark II Research Reactor

The National Center for Energy, Sciences and Nuclear Techniques (CNESTEN)’s Training Research Isotope Production General Atomics (TRIGA) Mark II is a pool-type light water moderated cooled research reactor operating at maximum steady state thermal power of 2 MW. was designed to be used as training facility operators, neutron activation analysis, isotopes production, implementing different physics experiments. This article deals with the numerical experimental characterization reaction rates (RRs) in irradiation channels inside CNESTEN’s TRIGA reactor, located Rabat/Morocco. main objective this study validate calculated RRs against measured ones prove that new TRIPOLI-4 model capable reproduce quantities. Therefore, measurements were carried out using technique gamma spectrometry measurements. Preliminary simulations performed transport Monte Carlo code establish design set up foils selected known characteristics irradiated, levels, facilities reactor. resulting activities evaluated via $\gamma $ Normalized compared, good agreement shown most nuclides, which indicates detailed can accurately predict relative values. Further work ongoing analyze absolute RR values, well carry other channels.
