چکیده
Accurately characterizing the relationships between tree height and diameter at breast (DBH) is vital to quantify productivity predict growth for forest management. This study makes use of data from inventories in Caribbean islands Puerto Rico, Trinidad U.S. Virgin Islands compare efficacy parametric mixed models, random mixed-effects algorithms (MERF) modeling species-specific H-D relationships. MERF as a semi-parametric approach advantageous handling high dimensional complex datasets using algorithm, well provide predictions with effects model framework. A total 37,124 observations used analyses were collected 645 permanent sample plots across three islands, including 309 species 121 34 Trinidad. Results showed that can be reliably diverse species, which produced more accurate than other two models. In addition DBH, competition index was found most important variable among all stand environmental variables islands. Adding climate-related improve prediction accuracy especially when size small. Precipitation selected often, confirming overall importance precipitation height. The results this work will not only relationship models trees, but also advance knowledge broad application mixed-species forests.

Height-diameter allometry of tropical forest trees
Tropical tree height-diameter (H:D) relationships may vary by forest type and region making large-scale estimates of above-ground biomass subject to bias if they ignore these differences in stem allometry. We have therefore developed a new global tropical forest database consisting of 39 955 concurrent H and D measurements encompassing 283 sites in 22 tropical countries. Utilising this database...
متن کاملDiagnosis of Diabetes Using a Random Forest Algorithm
Background: Diabetes is the fourth leading cause of death in the world. And because so many people around the world have the disease, or are at risk for it, diabetes can be called the disease of the century. Diabetes has devastating effects on the health of people in the community and if diagnosed late, it can cause irreparable damage to vision, kidneys, heart, arteries and so on. Therefore, it...

The purpose of this article is to survey recent results on distributional properties of random binary search trees. In particular we consider the profile and the height.
متن کاملHeight–diameter equations for boreal tree species in Ontario using a mixed-effects modeling approach
Height–diameter relationships based on stand characteristics (trees/ha, basal area, and dominant stand height) were investigated for balsam fir, balsam poplar, black spruce, jack pine, red pine, trembling aspen, white birch, and white spruce using data from permanent growth study plots in northern Ontario, Canada. Approximately half the data were used to estimate model parameters with the rest ...
متن کاملA Greedy Algorithm Estimating the Height of Random Trees
The behaviour of a greedy algorithm which estimates the height of a random labelled rooted tree is studied. A self-similarity argument is used to characterize the limit distribution of the length H of the path found by such an algorithm in a random rooted tree as the unique solution of an integral equation. Furthermore, it is shown that lim n!1 E H p n = p 2 2 p 2 ln(3 + 2 p 2) = 2 : 353139::: ...
