چکیده

New insight into the superconducting properties of HgBa2CuO4 (Hg-1201) cuprates is provided by combined measurements electrical resistivity and single crystal X-ray diffraction under pressure. The changes induced increasing pressure up to 20 GPa in optimally doped crystals were investigated. as a function temperature show metallic behavior ~10 that gradually passes an insulating state, typical charge ordering, which totally suppresses superconductivity above 13 GPa. are accompanied apparition sharp Bragg peaks patterns, indicating ordering 3D oxygen ordering. Considering induces transfer about 0.02 at 10 GPa, our results first observation order competing with developed overdoped region phase diagram Hg-based cuprate.

Dome-shaped magnetic order competing with high-temperature superconductivity at high pressures in FeSe

The coexistence and competition between superconductivity and electronic orders, such as spin or charge density waves, have been a central issue in high transition-temperature (Tc) superconductors. Unlike other iron-based superconductors, FeSe exhibits nematic ordering without magnetism whose relationship with its superconductivity remains unclear. Moreover, a pressure-induced fourfold increase...

New Methods for Investigating Superconductivity at Very High Pressures

1. – Introduction As a result of rapid developments in diamond-cell techniques, a broad range of studies of the physical and chemical properties of solids can be now conducted in situ to megabar pressures (i.e., > 100 GPa). The highest superconducting T c has been achieved by application of pressure of ∼ 30 GPa on HgBa 2 Ca 2 Cu 3 O 8+δ giving critical superconducting temperature of 164 K [3]. ...

Studies in superconductivity at extreme pressures

High pressure studies have played an important role in the field of superconductivity since the first experiments by Sizoo and Onnes in Leiden in 1925. A rapid dependence of the transition temperature on pressure signals that the material is capable of higher values of Tc at ambient pressure. Significant extensions of the pressure range, most recently to pressures above 1 Mbar using the diamond...

Diffraction Studies of Order-disorder at High Pressures and Temperatures

Recent developments at synchrotron X-ray beamlines now allow collection of data suitable for structure determination and Rietveld structure refinement at high pressures and temperatures on challenging materials. These include materials, such as dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2) that tends to calcine at high temperatures, and Fe-containing materials, such as the spinel MgFe2O4, which tend to undergo changes...

Sodium: a charge-transfer insulator at high pressures.

By first-principles methods we analyze the optical response of transparent dense sodium as a function of applied pressure. We discover an unusual kind of charge-transfer exciton that proceeds from the interstitial distribution of valence electrons. The absorption spectrum is strongly anisotropic, which, just at pressures above the metal-insulator transition, manifests as sodium being optically ...
