چکیده

Valorizing chicken feather agro-wastes nowadays is imperative, if these wastes are disposed of without treatment, they could contribute to environmental problems. Conventional methods processing feathers such as landfilling, chemical treatment and burning costly, non-time consumable toxic the environment. Microbial hydrolysis, on contrary, now considered main environmental-friendly recycling alternative. Hence, aim this study isolate keratinolytic bacteria with efficient optimize some physical parameters that affect both bacterial growth consequently its degrading ability. Results demonstrated an ability newly identified Bacillus sp. D4 strain isolated from under optimal mesophilic temperature 37°C, pH 8.0 106 CFU/mL cell size inoculum, interpreted by highest keratin activity (55.0 ± 1.35 U/mL) (54.3 1.5 respectively higher total protein content in free supernatant 0.65 mg/mL. Beyond values, a moderate enzyme was observed at 40°C (35.1 2 U/mL), 25°C (30.1 similarly initial 7.5 (52.3 9.0 (49.0 1.2 10.0 (38.2 U/mL). D4, other hand, not able tolerate high alkaline value 11.0 nor acidic 4.0 5.0 55°C, correspondingly low noted (19.0 1

Formulation of economical microbial feed using degraded chicken feathers by a novel Streptomyces sp: mitigation of environmental pollution

A new Streptomyces sp. IF 5 was isolated from the feather dumped soil and found to have a tremendous keratinase activity. The strain enabled the degradation of the chicken feathers very effectively in 60 h. The 16S rRNA sequence of 1474 bp long was submitted to the National centre for Biotechnological information. The keratinolytic activity in the culture medium was 1181 U/ml. The release and a...
