The purpose of this study was to examine the influence playing number cards in improving children's initial reading ability based on making a match with total sample 20 children. research uses quantitative approach pre-experimental type using one group pretest-posttest design. Based results, use improves early ability. results increase can be seen average value indicators used, namely distinguishing words and sounds/letters at time pretest is 2.05, percentage learning completion 33%. posttest there an 3.65 achieved for all This because carrying out word card-playing activities, teachers run well according stages scenarios that have been prepared.
