Chinese EFL Students’ Learning Needs for Speaking Performance: A Case Study

چکیده

Despite the importance of speaking skills, most Chinese graduates leave universities unable to communicate effectively in English. Therefore, this study aimed investigate differences between EFL students' perceived and actual performance understand their learning needs better. The involved 45 learners utilized a mixed-methods research design. Data were collected via questionnaire, test, semi-structured interviews. findings revealed that students overestimated performance, implying they unaware limitations. Hence instructors need provide better guidance enhance skills.
