Cleaning Phenolic Compounds Present in Water Using Salting-Out Effect with DCA-Based Ionic Liquids

Water is an essential natural resource, and its contamination important issue at present. This study aimed to increase the techniques that can be used clean reuse industrial wastewater by studying feasibility of aqueous two-phase system eliminate phenolic compounds from systems. The was prepared using two hydrophilic ionic liquids based on dicyanamide anion, 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazlium [EMim] [DCA], 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium [BMim][DCA], one inorganic salt, K3PO4, three different concentrations (20, 30, 40%). process tested for removal phenol, o-cresol, 2-chlorophenol, a mixture them (PCM) initial 0.003 15 g·L−1 in water. extraction efficiencies all studied systems were calculated. influence structure cation, concentration extracted yields recorded. In general, obtained results high systems, with more than 90% representing highest 2-chlorophenol compound [DCA] salt.
