چکیده
The Late Holocene was characterized by several centennial-scale climate oscillations including the Roman Warm Period, Dark Ages Cold Medieval Period and Little Ice Age. detection investigation of such anomalies requires paleoclimate archives with an accurate chronology as well a high temporal resolution. Here, we present 230Th/U-dated high-resolution multi-proxy records (?13C, ?18O trace elements) for last 2500 years four speleothems from Bunker Cave Herbstlabyrinth cave system in Germany. data all show evidence two warm cold phases during years, which coincide Age, respectively. During these periods, ?13C Mg concentration Bu4 (Bunker Cave) TV1 (Herbstlabyrinth system) common features are thus interpreted to be related past variability. Comparison other suggests strong influence North Atlantic Oscillation at caves sites, is reflected humid conditions dry period Bu1 NG01 (Herbstlabyrinth) inconsistent patterns Sr, Ba P that processes controlling abundance elements dominated site-specific effects rather than being supra-regional

Multidecadal climate variability in Brazil’s Nordeste during the last 3000 years based on speleothem isotope records
[1] We present the first high resolution, approximately 4 years sample spacing, precipitation record from northeastern Brazil (hereafter referred to as ‘Nordeste’) covering the last 3000 yrs from Th-dated stalagmites oxygen isotope records. Our record shows abrupt fluctuations in rainfall tied to variations in the intensity of the South American summer monsoon (SASM), including the periods corr...
متن کاملClimate variability and human impact in South America during the last 2000 years: synthesis and perspectives from pollen records
An improved understanding of present-day climate variability and change relies on high-quality data sets from the past 2 millennia. Global efforts to model regional climate modes are in the process of being validated against, and integrated with, records of past vegetation change. For South America, however, the full potential of vegetation records for evaluating and improving climate models ha...

متن کامل2500 years of European climate variability and human susceptibility.
Climate variations influenced the agricultural productivity, health risk, and conflict level of preindustrial societies. Discrimination between environmental and anthropogenic impacts on past civilizations, however, remains difficult because of the paucity of high-resolution paleoclimatic evidence. We present tree ring-based reconstructions of central European summer precipitation and temperatu...
متن کاملHigh-resolution variability of the South American summer monsoon over the last seven millennia: insights from a speleothem record from the central Peruvian Andes
Stable oxygen isotope (d18O) measurements of two speleothems, collected from Huagapo Cave in the central Peruvian Andes and with overlapping age from 1.1 to 1.4 ka, characterize tropical South American climate variability over the last 7150 years. In the study region, precipitation d18O (dOp) is inversely correlated to rainfall amount upstream in the Amazon Basin and the intensity of convection...
