CO 2 emissions and growth: A bivariate bidimensional mean‐variance random effects model

چکیده

We introduce a bivariate bidimensional mixed-effects regression model, motivated by the analysis of CO 2 $$ {\mathrm{CO}}_2 emission levels and growth on OECD countries from 1990 to 2018. The model is able capture heterogeneity across allows for full association structure among outcomes, assuming discrete distribution random terms with possibly different number support points in each univariate profile. test behavior proposed approach via simulation study, considering several factors such as observed units, times, data. Empirically, we define an extended version STIRPAT where all parameters, not only mean, vary according model. Our empirical findings provide evidence heterogeneous behaviors suggest need flexible properly reflect both processes.

A bivariate failure time model with random shocks and mixed effects

Two components are considered, which are subject to common external and possibly fatal shocks. The lifetimes of both components are characterized by their hazard rates. Each shock can cause the immediate failure of either one or both components. Otherwise, the hazard rate of each component is increased by a non fatal shock of a random amount, with possible dependence between the simultaneous in...

Bidimensional Sand Pile Model

In this paper we introduce the Bidimensional Sand Pile Model (BSPM), that is, a generalization of the Sand Pile Model (SPM) with the addition of a further dimension. The SPM and some related models have been studied in many different domains and they play an important role in the theory of discrete dynamical systems. They were considered in the context of integer lattices by Brylawski in 1973. ...

An alternative model for bivariate random-effects meta-analysis when the within-study correlations are unknown.

Multivariate meta-analysis models can be used to synthesize multiple, correlated endpoints such as overall and disease-free survival. A hierarchical framework for multivariate random-effects meta-analysis includes both within-study and between-study correlation. The within-study correlations are assumed known, but they are usually unavailable, which limits the multivariate approach in practice....

A Growth Model in a Random Environment

Abstract. We consider a model of interface growth in two dimensions, given by a height function on the sites of the one–dimensional integer lattice. According to the discrete time update rule, the height above the site x increases to the height above x − 1, if the latter height is larger; otherwise the height above x increases by 1 with probability px. We assume that px are chosen independently...

The Multilevel Crossed Random Effects Growth Model for Estimating Teacher and School Effects: Issues and Extensions

This article examines the multilevel linear crossed random effects growth model for estimating teacher and school effects from repeated measurements of student achievement. Results suggest that even a small degree of unmodeled nonlinearity can result in a substantial upward bias in the magnitude of the teacher effect, which raises concerns about its appropriateness for estimating teacher effect...
