Coherent Driver Modulator With Flexible Printed Circuit RF Interface for 128-Gbaud Operations

We developed a flexible printed circuit (FPC) RF interface InP-based high-bandwidth coherent driver modulator (CDM) for 128-Gbaud class operations. To increase the bandwidth of CDM, an FPC was introduced to CDM package, which significantly improved roll-off frequency by about 40 GHz compared with conventional package surface-mount-type interface. The has 3-dB 75 and above 110 GHz. These are best characteristics among packages reported so far. By integrating electro-optic (EO) >67 IC electrical >75 in this had EO >72 This is sufficient 128 Gbaud-class Furthermore, we performed dual polarization 16QAM modulations confirmed good back-to-back bit-error-rate characteristics.
