Collaborating With Communities: Citizen Science Flood Monitoring in Urban Informal Settlements

Concerns regarding the impacts of climate change on marginalised communities in Global South have led to calls for affected be more active as agents process planning change. While value involving risk management is increasingly accepted, development appropriate tools support community engagement flood projects remains nascent. Using Revitalising Informal Settlements and their Environments Program a case study, article interrogates potential citizen science include disadvantaged urban project-level reduction processes. This project collected than 5,000 photos taken by 26 members living 13 informal settlements Fiji Indonesia between 2018 2020. The study documents method used well results achieved within this two-year project.
