COMBINATION OF COPPER INTERMEDIATE SX STEEL AND GR5 (Ti6Al4V) TITANIUM BY DIFFUSION WELDING METHOD

GR5 (Ti6Al4V) is a material commonly used in aerospace and space, biomedical automobile sectors, consisting of pure titanium at minimum 99% purity. Besides being lightweight, separate from similar materials with its ability to resist corrosion high levels show strength. SX steel silicon-content austenitic stainless the good quality welding excellent resistance concentration sulfuric acid nitric acid. areas such as coolers, piping systems, distributors, towers tanks, pumps, nozzles, internals, strainers mesh pads. With improving technology, need for steel-titanium that are resisted made welded joint increasing. In this study, effect GR temperature on connection examined diffusion method using copper intermediary layer. The pairs combined pressure 5 MPa fixed time 60 minutes an argon gas environment silicon bar oven 980, 1000 1020°C. SEM-EDS-AFM analysis samples performed, metallographic structure layer diffusion-affected region by optical microscope, possible phases tried be determined XRD analysis. micro stiffness values area analyzed.
