Combined PV–EV hosting capacity assessment for a residential LV distribution grid with smart EV charging and PV curtailment

Photovoltaic (PV) systems and electric vehicles (EVs) integrated in local distribution are considered to be two of the keys a sustainable future built environment. However, large-scale integration PV generation EV charging loads poses technical challenges for grid. Each grid has specific hosting capacity limiting allowable share. This paper presents combined PV–EV assessment residential LV with four different energy management system (EMS) scenarios: (1) without EMS, (2) smart only, (3) curtailment (4) both curtailment. The is presented using novel graphical approach so that can analyzed within same framework. Results show improve EVs significantly slightly. While significantly, it cannot at all. From analysis, concluded there slight positive correlation between case areas.
