COMBINING ABILITY AND HYBRID POWER IN INTERSPECIFIC (Gossypium hirsutum L. x Gossypium barbadense L.) LINE x TESTER HYBRIDS OF COTTON

Cotton is most important fiber plant in the world having different properties. This study was carried out to increase yield and ginning outturn of seven interspesific pure (F9) line cotton (G hirsutum L. x G barbadense L.). For this, lines were hybridized with ST 468 Claudia cultivars which belonging genus, 2018, by Line Tester mating design. Then, 14 F1 hybrids sown nine parents according Randomized Complate Block Design three replications, 2019, Kahramanmaras. In results study, BGKM-3 BGKM-5 had been found very significant. Morever, while hybrid showed positive SCA seed outturn, GCA terms length. Also, tester both fineness outturn. İnheritance have higher than other traits determined environmental conditions dominant genes are effective on yield. Besides, effects total variance testers interaction, excluding fineness.
