CommAID: Visual Analytics for Communication Analysis through Interactive Dynamics Modeling

نویسندگان

چکیده

Communication consists of both meta-information as well content. Currently, the automated analysis such data often focuses either on network aspects via social or content, utilizing methods from text-mining. However, first category approaches does not leverage rich content information, while latter ignores conversation environment and temporal evolution, evident in meta-information. In contradiction to communication research, which stresses importance a holistic approach, are rarely applied simultaneously, consequently, their combination has yet received enough attention systems. this work, we aim address challenge by discussing difficulties design decisions path contribute CommAID, blueprint for strategy analysis. It features an integrated visual analytics analyze networks through dynamics modeling, semantic pattern retrieval, user-adaptable problem-specific machine learning-based retrieval system. An interactive multi-level matrix-based visualization facilitates focused using inline visuals supporting cross-checks reducing context switches. We evaluate our approach case study formative evaluation with eight law enforcement experts real-world corpus. Results show that solution surpasses existing techniques terms integration level applicability. With contribution, pave more

Interactive dimensionality reduction for visual analytics

In this work, we present a novel approach for data visualization based on interactive dimensionality reduction (iDR). The main idea of the paper relies on considering for visualization the intermediate results of non-convex DR algorithms under changes on the metric of the input data space driven by the user. With an appropriate visualization interface, our approach allows the user to focus on t...

Analytical, visual and interactive concepts for geo-visual analytics

Supporting the visual analysis of structured multivariate geo-spatial data is a challenging task involving many different aspects. In this paper, we describe a systematic view of this task based on Chi’s data state reference model. The analytical, visual and interaction components of the systematic view will be instantiated with specific examples that demonstrate how their tight interconnection...

Enabling Interactive Process Analysis with Process Mining and Visual Analytics

In a typical healthcare setting, specific clinical care pathways can be defined by the hospitals. Process mining provides a way of analyzing the care pathways by analyzing the event data extracted from the hospital information systems. Process mining can be used to optimize the overall care pathway, and gain interesting insights into the actual execution of the process, as well as to compare th...
