Random Matrix Theory and Spectral Sum Rules for the Dirac Operator in Qcd
We construct a random matrix model that, in the large N limit, reduces to the low energy limit of the QCD partition function put forward by Leutwyler and Smilga. This equivalence holds for an arbitrary number of flavors and any value of the QCD vacuum angle. In this model, moments of the inverse squares of the eigenvalues of the Dirac operator obey sum rules, which we conjecture to be universal...
متن کاملComment on "Nucleon-nucleon scattering lengths in QCD sum rules"
In a recent Letter [1], Kondo and Morimatsu present a QCD sum rule calculation of nucleon-nucleon scattering lengths. They also relate the empirical scattering lengths to the nucleon mass shift δM in nuclear matter to cast doubt on the " linear density approximation. " In this Comment, we point out flaws in both parts of their analysis. It is useful to start with the (nonrelativistic) optical p...
متن کاملMassive Spectral Sum Rules for the Dirac Operator
Massive spectral sum rules are derived for Dirac operators of SU(Nc) gauge theories with Nf flavors. The universal microscopic massive spectral densities of random matrix theory, where known, are all consistent with these sum rules. NBI-HE-97-57 hep-th/9711047 The derivation of exact spectral sum rules for eigenvalues of the Dirac operator in QCD by Leutwyler and Smilga [1] has recently led to ...
متن کاملMicroscopic Spectrum of the QCD Dirac Operator in Three Dimensions
The microscopic spectral correlators of the Dirac operator in three-dimensional Yang-Mills theory coupled to fundamental fermions and with three or more colours are derived from the supersymmetric formulation of partially quenched effective Lagrangians. The flavour supersymmetry breaking patterns are appropriately identified and used to calculate the corresponding finite volume partition functi...
متن کاملQCD Sum Rules for Skeptics
A new Monte-Carlo based uncertainty analysis is introduced to quantitatively determine the predictive ability of QCD sum rules. A comprehensive analysis of ground state ρ-meson and nucleon spectral properties is performed. Many of the findings contradict the conventional wisdom of both practitioners and skeptics alike. Associations between the phenomenological fit parameters are particularly in...
