Common Errors in English Aphasic Discourse

The article generalizes the results of research directed onto singling out common errors in speech aphasic patients. Aphasia is characterized by partial or complete loss and caused damage language areas (Broca’s Wernicke’s areas). A lesion middle part patient’s left frontal lobe Broca’s aphasia to posterior superior temporal gyrus referred as aphasia. major causes are strokes, cortical vein thrombosis, traumas skull brain, brain infections, tumors, etc. based on language-in-use descriptive approach discourse analysis presents an investigation 40 documentary video recordings patients’ (free narration dialogues); overall duration 180 minutes. inclusion criterion was any type adulthood. All patients English-speaking people (English being their native language) recovering from done according following criteria: intelligibility, coherence, cohesion, grammatical structure utterances, prosody intonation, thus combining formalist (or structuralist) functionalist paradigms. has shown that most make when speaking follows: syntactic errors, articulatory lexical misuse slow rate. Syntactic prevail (55% 50% all studied cases respectively), whereas 37.5% speakers demonstrated 75% with incoherent. verbal performance marked extensive use pronouns repetition words phrases.
