Local and global properties of mixtures in one-dimensional systems. II. Exact results for the Kirkwood-Buff integrals.
The Kirkwood-Buff integrals for two-component mixtures in one-dimensional systems are calculated directly. The results are applied to square-well particles and found to agree with those obtained by the inversion of the Kirkwood-Buff theory of solutions.
متن کاملCoupling Accelerated Molecular Dynamics Methods with Thermodynamic Integration Simulations
In this work we propose a straightforward and efficient approach to improve accuracy and convergence of free energy simulations in condensed-phase systems. We also introduce a new accelerated Molecular Dynamics (MD) approach in which molecular conformational transitions are accelerated by lowering the energy barriers while the potential surfaces near the minima are left unchanged. All free ener...
متن کاملEquilibrium Molecular Thermodynamics from Kirkwood Sampling
We present two methods for barrierless equilibrium sampling of molecular systems based on the recently proposed Kirkwood method (J. Chem. Phys. 2009, 130, 134102). Kirkwood sampling employs low-order correlations among internal coordinates of a molecule for random (or non-Markovian) sampling of the high dimensional conformational space. This is a geometrical sampling method independent of the p...
متن کاملThermodynamic Limit from Small Lattices of Coupled Maps
We compare the behavior of a small truncated coupled map lattice with random inputs at the boundaries with that of a large deterministic lattice essentially at the thermodynamic limit. We find exponential convergence for the probability density, predictability, power spectrum, and twopoint correlation with increasing truncated lattice size. This suggests that spatiotemporal embedding techniques...
متن کاملStability of lattice QCD simulations and the thermodynamic limit
We study the spectral gap of the Wilson–Dirac operator in two-flavour lattice QCD as a function of the lattice spacing a, the space-time volume V and the current-quark mass m. It turns out that the median of the probability distribution of the gap scales proportionally to m and that its width is practically equal to a/ √ V . In particular, numerical simulations are safe from accidental zero mod...
