Community health worker empowerment through collaborative models with community midwifery

From 2007 to 2015, Indonesia’s maternal mortality rate (MMR) increased from 228/100,000 305/100,000 live births. The government has established a policy reduce the MMR in rural and remote areas, which includes waiting home (MWH) program placement of community midwifery. However, use MWH Indonesia, such as South Sulawesi Province, remains low. This study aimed todetermine impact health worker (CHW) Empowerment Collaboration Model on (MWH). was quasi-experimental with control group pre-post test design. investigation conducted at four centers Bulukumba, Sulawesi. A total 125 pregnant women were selected for divided into two groups: 66 experimental 59 group. collaborative empowerment model CHWs implemented five stages. CHW provided education. In group, there statistically significant increases knowledge, attitude, use, whereas no Community collaboration significantly improves women's attitudes, utilization outcomes (210%).
