Community resilience to natural resource vulnerability due to sand mining through the application of Integrated Farming System (IFS)

Changes in natural resources have presented major problems for farming communities rural areas. In general, farmers diversify their livelihoods the non-agricultural sector without paying attention to impact on availability of future. Sand mining activity has become one short-term solutions As a result, problem such as land degradation occurs village, thereby generating negative impacts nature next generation. This study aimed analyze causes and describe Integrated Farming System (IFS) solution address Bambang Village, Wajak District, Malang Regency. applied qualitative case research design, methods included in-depth interviews with 40 informants, observation, Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The location this was determined by purposive sampling, considering that Village is villages affected due sand mining. results revealed vulnerability community; thus, another alternative proposed utilize part (20%) area neglecting environmental preservation reward services. addition, IFS actors ecopreneurs were considered meet needs prepare community resilience through ecological sustaining ecosystem balance. practice, requires integration among stakeholders, concerned institutions.
