Comparative analysis of flood and rainfall frequency in the ungauged sub-watersheds of Kakia and Esamburumbur in Narok town, Kenya, using the EBA4SUB rainfall-runoff model

Knowledge of design peak flow is crucial in various applications related to hydrology, hydraulics and water resources management. However, obtaining challenging especially ungauged basins lacking discharge observations, a circumstance that does not allow the calibration advanced hydrological models. Recently, new method called EBA4SUB (Event-Based Approach for Small Ungauged Basins) was introduced estimate hydrograph basins. The current study used model evaluate Kakia Esamburumbur sub-watersheds, Narok town, Kenya. investigated link between rainfall frequency analysis flood analysis, showing reliability this approach at event scale selected watersheds. coefficient determination rainfall-based return period flow-based both sub-watersheds highlighted strong dependency flow.
