Comparative evaluation of management of oral lichen planus using three different modalities: A clinical study

: Oral lichen planus (OLP), a chronic inflammatory mucocutaneous disorder varying in appearance, affects the mucus membrane of oral cavity and is potentially premalignant. Various therapeutic regimens have been developed for management OLP highlighting steroids as first-line procedure. Recently, modalities like lasers, photodynamic therapy (PDT), photobiomodulation (PBM) has also mentioned literature to be equally effective with minimal intervention. A total 15 known cases were randomly allocated into three groups; topical corticosteroid applications, diode laser ablation (980 nm), therapy. Patients evaluated RAE score, health-related quality life (OHRQoL) using VAS score following Applications PDT proved resolution symptoms scoring OHQOL that these bright future evolve trend. Modalities lasers open new dimensions providing safe alternative techniques compared conventional method.
