Comparative study between PI and SMC controllers for DFIG using fuzzy wind power estimator

In this paper, we are interested in the control of rotor current doubly feed induction generator (DFIG), that is used wind turbines. context, present a comparative study between two types controllers. The first based on classic PI proportional-integral control, while second SMC sliding control. command chain uses fuzzy estimator power, which makes it possible to determine reference speed DFIG. system includes essentially turbine, converters, one side and other grid side, filter. grid-side converter maintain constant DC bus voltage reactive power. DFIG guarantee maximum power extracted from turbine. addition, allows controlling through according axis "d" frame linked rotating field. simulation results show effectiveness mode (SMC) for considered system.
