Comparing quantum hybrid reinforcement learning to classical methods

چکیده
Abstract In recent history, reinforcement learning (RL) proved its capability by solving complex decision problems mastering several games. Increased computational power and the advances in approximation with neural networks (NN) paved path to RL’s successful applications. Even though RL can tackle more nowadays, it still relies on runtime. Quantum computing promises solve these issues encode information potential quadratic speedup We compare tabular Q-learning using either a quantum or classical architecture frozen lake problem. Furthermore, three algorithms are analyzed terms of iterations until convergence optimal behavior, memory usage, Within paper, NNs utilized for domain, while domain variational circuits, as hybrid method, have been used. Our simulations show that approximator is beneficial usage provides better sample complexity than NNs; however, lacks speed be competitive.

15 صفحه اولComparing Deep Reinforcement Learning and Evolutionary Methods in Continuous Control
Reinforcement learning and evolutionary strategy are two major approaches in addressing complicated control problems. Both have strong biological basis and there have been recently many advanced techniques in both domains. In this paper, we present a thorough comparison between the state of the art techniques in both domains in complex continuous control tasks. We also formulate the parallelize...
متن کاملComparing classical and quantum equilibration.
By using a physically relevant and theory independent definition of measurement-based equilibration, we show quantitatively that equilibration is easier for quantum systems than for classical systems, in the situation where the initial state of the system is completely known (a pure state). This shows that quantum equilibration is a fundamental aspect of many quantum systems, while classical eq...
متن کاملHybrid classical-quantum dynamics
A hybrid formalism is proposed for interacting classical and quantum sytems. This formalism is mathematically consistent and reduces to standard classical and quantum mechanics in the case of no interaction. However, in the presence of interaction, the correspondence principle is violated. PACS numbers: 03.65.Bz, 03.65.Sq ∗ Electronic mail: [email protected], [email protected]
متن کاملLocal Correlation Methods in Classical and Quantum Mechanics Hybrid Schemes
The computation of reaction barriers in molecular systems has been since its birth one of the major challenges in Theoretical Chemistry. It is of vital importance in understanding and predicting catalysis phenomena, and in rationalizing our knowledge of chemical reactivity in general using Transition State Theory (TST). The Hartree-Fock (HF) approximation offers a "mean field" approach to the s...
