Comparison and Parametric Analysis of Thermoelectric Generator System for Industrial Waste Heat Recovery with Three Types of Heat Sinks: Numerical Study

In this study, a fluid–thermal–electrical multiphysics numerical model was developed for the thermal and electrical analyses of heat sink-based thermoelectric generator (TEG) in waste recovery system used casting bronze ingot mold. Moreover, validated based on experimental data. Heat sinks were installed hot side TEG module to recover from flue gas generated process. The results characteristics plate fin (PF)-based showed good agreement with findings. Numerical simulations three different structures—PF, cylinder pin (CPF), rectangular (RPF)—were conducted. simulated pressure drop, hot- cold-side temperature difference module, power output, efficiency compared differently designed structures. that same area, CPF achieved lower higher than other two designs. This particularly true when velocity height exceed 5 m/s 28.6 mm, respectively. Therefore, low high velocities, PF are recommended as best choices,
