Comparison of foeto-maternal outcomes of planned verses emergency caesarean section

Background: Caesarean section is the most commonly performed obstetrical procedure. sections can be divided into either planned or emergent, with latter accounting for a higher frequency of complications.Methods: A prospective observational comparative study conducted in department obstetrics & gynaecology at MGM Medical College, Navi Mumbai over period 1 year. All women singleton pregnancies undergoing emergency elective caesarean were included study. 600 patients 300 each group. Incidences various indications was assessed both groups. Relevant pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative findings noted. Maternal outcome terms intraoperative complications, postoperative need intensive care unit (ICU) stay, maternal mortality rate. Foetal APGAR score birth, birth injuries, admission to neonatal (NICU), perinatal mortality.Results: In our study, cases seen have significantly rate as well foetal complications compared those sections.Conclusions: Early pregnancy registration thereby screening high risk managing planning accordingly section, reduce incidence presumed risks, consequences that may result due sections.
