Comparison of Power versus Manual Toothbrush in Reducing Gingivitis

Introduction: Dental plaque is a bacterial biofilm consisting of complex communities species. Materials and Methods: The study was single-blind, parallel arm, randomized, controlled interventional trial. Total 46 male female subjects (32 16 males) with mean age 26 years were enrolled according to the admission criteria accepted into this study. assigned either powered brush or manual based on levels inflammation (% BOP, MGI-52), (53, 54, 55) using screening data. Results: BOP decreased from baseline 22% 17% at 2 weeks 16% 4 for Power users (Group A). For Manual B), 27% 21% 19% weeks; so both groups had reduction in but there no statistical significance group. Conclusion: Both demonstrated signs gingivitis (BOP GI) non-flossing population after being repeatedly trained toothbrush use over 4-week period. toothbrushes equally effective reducing overnight as single exercise initial professional training.
