Comparison of trigeminal lateralization with differing stimulants

چکیده
Abstract Trigeminal‐specific stimulants have been shown to activate different receptors preferentially and this likely accounts for variation in sensory perception. It is unclear whether trigeminal sensitivity similar across transient receptor potential (TRP) or if dysfunction of results differing patient symptoms. Therefore, a prospective cohort study was conducted, consisting lateralization testing with three (eucalyptol, isothiocyanate, acetic acid), olfaction Sniffin' Sticks, measurement various patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs). A total 50 participants were enrolled the olfactory spectrum. Mean TDI score 27.1 ± 8.3 (range 7.0–39.5) 38% normosmic 62% dysosmic. scores out 20 overall 16.18 (2.78) eucalyptol, 14.94 (3.49) mustard oil, 15.28 (3.68) vinegar. Eucalyptol showed significant correlation threshold Sticks. found between acid PROMs. None correlated each other significantly there no age. The lack suggests that measured one type TRP may not translate receptors. Additional investigations TRPV1 TRPA1 agonists are needed corroborate our findings.

Pain Lateralization in Trigeminal Neuralgia
I read the article by Bangash (1) with great interest, as it reconfirms the repeatedly reported finding of the predominance of affection of the right side of the face in patients with trigeminal neuralgia. This finding is even more intriguing as trigeminal neuralgia behaves quite opposite to many other painful disorders as pain in general was assumed to be more common on the left side of the bo...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate a brief olfactory test based on pleasantness rating of olfactory and trigeminal stimulants. DESIGN Criterion standard. SETTING University hospital. PARTICIPANTS A total of 60 participants (48 healthy and 12 with olfactory loss) aged 16 to 81 years. INTERVENTIONS The new test of odor pleasantness (TOP) based on classification of odorants and trigeminal stimulants in...
متن کاملa comparison of teachers and supervisors, with respect to teacher efficacy and reflection
supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...

Previous research has shown that odorants consistently evoke associations with textures and their tactile properties like smoothness and roughness. Also, it has been observed that olfaction can modulate tactile perception. We therefore hypothesized that tactile roughness perception may be biased towards the somatosensory connotation of an ambient odorant. We performed two experiments to test th...
