چکیده

Abstract Galvanic corrosion is a destructive process between dissimilar metals. The present paper presents constructed numerical test case to simulate galvanic of two This used study the accuracy different implementations track dissolving anode boundary. One technique numerically mesh displacement based on prescribed at second method adjust only boundary elements. Re-meshing after certain number time steps applied both implementations. They produce similar results for an electrical and electrochemical field problem. work shows that smoothing does not result in higher when modeling moving front. Adjusting elements sufficient frequent re-meshing used.

Moving Particles Through a Finite Element Mesh

We present a new numerical technique for modeling the flow around multiple objects moving in a fluid. The method tracks the dynamic interaction between each particle and the fluid. The movements of the fluid and the object are directly coupled. A background mesh is designed to fit the geometry of the overall domain. The mesh is designed independently of the presence of the particles except in t...

Moving mesh finite element method for unsteady Navier-Stokes flow

In this paper, we use moving mesh fintie element method based upon 4P1 − P1 element to solve the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations in 2D. Twolayer nested meshes are used including velocity mesh and pressure mesh, and velocity mesh can be obtained by globally refining pressure mesh. We use hierarchy geometry tree to store the nested meshes. This data structure make convienence for adaptive ...

Membrane-Channel Protein System Mesh Construction for Finite Element Simulations

We present a method of constructing the volume meshes of the membrane-channel protein system for finite element simulation of ion channels. The membrane channel system consists of the solvent region and the membrane-protein region. Our method focuses on labeling the tetrahedra in the solvent and membrane-protein regions and collecting the interface triangles between different regions. It contai...
