Comparison of Vortex Cut and Vortex Ring Models for Toroidal Bubble Dynamics in Underwater Explosions

چکیده

The jet impact from a collapsing bubble is an important mechanism of structural damage in underwater explosions and cavitation erosion. Boundary Integral Method (BIM) widely used to simulate nonspherical dynamic behaviors due its high accuracy efficiency. However, conventional BIM cannot toroidal dynamics, as the flow field transforms single-connected into double-connected. To overcome this problem, vortex cut ring models can be handle discontinuous potential on surface. In work, we compare these two applied dynamics free near rigid wall terms profile, gas pressure, pressure induced by bubble, etc. Our results show that produce comparable outcomes with sufficient number nodes each. axisymmetric case, model more efficient than model. Moreover, found both improve self-consistency surface elements (N) increases, N=300 representing optimal value. findings provide insights numerical study which enhance selection application research engineering applications.

Vortex ring

By rigorous mathematical method, we construct traveling wave solutions with a stationary or traveling vortex ring to the Gross-Pitaevskii equation iût = ε 2 4 û + ( Ṽ − |û| ) û, û ∈ H(R), where the unknown function û is defined as û : R × R → C, ε is a small positive parameter and Ṽ is a smooth potential.

Vortex Dynamics in Non–Abelian Spin Models

We discuss the abelian vortex dynamics in the abelian projection approach to non-abelian spin models. We show numerically that in the three-dimensional SU(2) spin model in the Maximal Abelian projection the abelian off-diagonal vortices are not responsible for the phase transition contrary to the diagonal vortices. A generalization of the abelian projection approach to SU(N) spin models is brie...

Model for Vortex Ring State Influence on Rotorcraft Flight Dynamics

The influence of vortex ring state (VRS) on rotorcraft flight dynamics is investigated, specifically the vertical velocity drop of helicopters and the roll-off of tiltrotors encountering VRS. The available wind tunnel and flight test data for rotors in vortex ring state are reviewed. Test data for axial flow, nonaxial flow, two rotors, unsteadiness, and vortex ring state boundaries are describe...

Quasi-periodic Dynamics of Desingularized Vortex Models

Sufficient conditions for the existence of quasi-pe~odic solutions of two different desingularized vortex models for 2-dimensional Euler flows are derived. One of these modds is the vortex blob model for the evolution of a periodic vortex sheet and the other is a second order elliptic moment model (DEMM) for the evolution of widely separated vortex regions. The method involves the identificatio...
