چکیده

PurposeTo report complications after arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs (ARCRs) in a large patient cohort based on clinical application of newly defined core event set (CES) and severity grading.MethodsConsecutive primary ARCRs documented local registry between February 2010 September 2016 were included. Clinicians adverse events (AEs) reported until the final, 6-month postoperative follow-up according to CES. The CES is an organized list relevant AEs sorted into 3 intraoperative groups (device, osteochondral, soft tissue) 9 pain, cuff, surgical-site infection, peripheral neurologic, vascular, superficial tissue, deep tissue). Severity was determined using adaptation Clavien-Dindo classification. Cumulative complication risks calculated per group stratified by tear extent.ResultsA total 1,661 1,594 patients (mean age, 57 years [standard deviation, years]; 38% women); 21% involved partial tears. All recorded Intraoperative occurred 2.2% repairs. We identified 329 307 (305 patients); 93% had 1 AE. cumulative AE risk at 6 months 18.5%; 21.8% for tears, 15.8% full-thickness single-tendon 18.0% tears with 2 ruptured tendons, 25.6% tendons. as follows: 9.4% shoulder stiffness (7.6%) being most common event; 3.4% persistent or worsening pain; 3.1% defects; 1.7% neurologic lesions; 0.8% infection; 0.7% device; 0.4% osteochondral; 0.2% 0.1% vascular. Most grades I (160 [49%]) II (117 [36%]).ConclusionsComprehensive documentation grading possible showed that about one-fifth affected, mostly one low severity. Shoulder frequent event.Level EvidenceLevel IV, case series. To grading. Consecutive extent. A [36%]). Comprehensive event.

Complications Following Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Tear Repair

Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases were searched for reviews, clinical studies, and case reports of complications associated with ARCR. Reference lists of selected articles were also screened. The terminology of complications and their definitions were extracted from all relevant original articles by a single reviewer and verified by a second reviewer. Definitions o...

Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.

Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair is being performed by an increasing number of orthopaedic surgeons. The principles, techniques, and instrumentation have evolved to the extent that all patterns and sizes of rotator cuff tear, including massive tears, can now be repaired arthroscopically. Achieving a biomechanically stable construct is critical to biologic healing. The ideal repair construct mus...

Outcomes after arthroscopic revision rotator cuff repair.

BACKGROUND Although a number of reports have documented outcomes after open revision rotator cuff repair, there are few studies reporting results after arthroscopic revision. HYPOTHESIS Arthroscopic repair of failed rotator cuff results in significant improvement in shoulder functional outcome and pain relief. STUDY DESIGN Case series; Level of evidence, 4. METHODS Multiple variables incl...

Second-Look Arthroscopic Evaluation After Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair of Partial Rotator Cuff Tears: Comparison of Two Repair Techniques

Background: For surgical treatment of symptomatic partial rotator cuff tears, 2 repair techniques, i.e., arthroscopic trans-tendon repair and arthroscopic repair after conversion to full thickness tear, were widely used and satisfactory clinical outcomes have been reported. However, no study has seen for the direct evaluation of repair integrity after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair using seco...

Arthroscopic repair of complete tear of rotator cuff

Abstract  Background: Rotator cuff tear is one of the most common causes of shoulder  complaints in the elderly. Based on the severity and patient's condition, a variety of  methods applies to manage the tear and surgery is an important method, which could  be done by open or arthroscopic technique. The current study aimed to investigate  and report short-term results of arthroscopic repair of...
