چکیده
Abstract The measurement of the optical transmission matrix (TM) an opaque material is advanced form space-variant aberration correction. Beyond imaging, TM-based methods are emerging in a range fields, including communications, micro-manipulation, and computing. In many cases, TM very sensitive to perturbations configuration scattering medium it represents. Therefore, applications often require up-to-the-minute characterisation fragile TM, typically entailing hundreds thousands probe measurements. Here, we explore how these requirements can be relaxed using framework compressive sensing, which incorporation prior information enables accurate estimation from fewer measurements than dimensionality aim reconstruct. Examples such priors include knowledge memory effect linking input output approximate model system, or recent but degraded measurement. We demonstrate this concept by reconstructing full-size multimode fibre supporting 754 modes at compression ratios down ∼5% with good fidelity. show that case, imaging still possible TMs reconstructed ∼1% (eight measurements). This sampling strategy quite general may applied variety other samples, diffusers, thin layers tissue, optics any refractive profile, reflections walls. These approaches offer route towards high-dimensional either quickly access limited numbers

Shaping the light transmission through a multimode optical fibre: complex transformation analysis and applications in biophotonics.
We present a powerful approach towards full understanding of laser light propagation through multimode optical fibres and control of the light at the fibre output. Transmission of light within a multimode fibre introduces randomization of laser beam amplitude, phase and polarization. We discuss the importance of each of these factors and introduce an experimental geometry allowing full analysis...
متن کاملSpatio-temporal signature of a multimode optical fibre
Both phase and group velocities of all guided modes of a moderately multimode fibre are experimentally determined from a single sample. Modes are excited by a picosecond optical pulse and spatially separated at the etched fibre end. A picosecond streak camera records their spatial and temporal output coordinates.

15 صفحه اولChemical detection in liquid media with a refractometric sensor based on a multimode optical fibre
In this paper the physical basis for the design of an optical fibre sensor suited for aqueous medium and gas phase based on the excitation of an evanescent wave at the core/cladding interface is developed. The detection based on the refractive index changes (between 1.41 and 1.45) of the infinite dielectric medium which can be an electrolyte or a sol-gel polymer deposited on the uncladed part o...
