Conclusion Implications for Active Curriculum Reform Work and Future Research

In this theme, the authors explore potentially foundational research tools which might aid future mathematics curriculum reform efforts. From these chapters, we highlight several key considerations: (1) Considering contexts as systems can make important choices stand out; (2) The integration of teachers into efforts is a factor in success those efforts; (3) Enhancing communication across community boundaries benefits reform; and (4) Two basic types challenges are for to address – availability sensitive data at multiple scales, development with common foundations compatible methodological approaches. We summarise questions remained outstanding after our work ICMI 24 conference, mention preliminary discussions recommendations areas. For each point discuss implications active research.
