Theory of strongly phase fluctuating d-wave superconductors and the spin response in underdoped cuprates
General theory of d-wave quasiparticles coupled to phase fluctuations of the superconducting order parameter is discussed. In the charge sector the superfluid density is found to conform to the Uemura scaling. The spin susceptibility exhibits four distinct regimes with increasing frequency, and scales with the superconducting Tc, as observed.
متن کاملThe correlation between the Nernst effect and fluctuation diamagnetism in strongly fluctuating superconductors
We study theNernst effect influctuating superconductors by calculating the transport coefficient xy a in a phenomenologicalmodel where the relative importance of phase and amplitude fluctuations of the order parameter is tuned continuously to smoothly evolve from an effectiveXYmodel to themore conventional Ginzburg–Landau description. To connect with a concrete experimental realizationwe choose...
متن کاملMagnetization Relaxation in Layered Superconductors
The energy of a pointlike vortex is calculated for a layered superconductor with very weak interlayer Josephson coupling. An energy barrier existing near the sample surface is found. Magnetization relaxation due to thermally activated penetration of pointlike vortices and quantum tunnelling of pointlike vortices are considered. An initial avalanche-type decay of magnetization is predicted. Magn...
متن کاملMagnetoconductivity due to quantum interference in strongly underdoped YBa2Cu3Ox
We report magnetoconductivity measurements on YBa2Cu3Ox (x56.25 and 6.36) single crystals. Our main result is that both the in-plane Dsab and out-of-plane Dsc magnetoconductivities exhibit the field dependence characteristic of ‘‘two-dimensional’’ quantum interference in applied magnetic fields Huuc . Namely, Dsc ,ab }ln H/H0.0, with Dsc /sc substantially greater than Dsab /sab . We interpret t...
متن کاملScaling properties of the irreversible magnetization curves of high-temperature superconductors.
A one-parameter scaling of the magnetization curves of the high-temperature superconductor Tl-Ba-Ca-Cu-0 causes all data points in the irreversible regime to collapse into a single curve M H f~ (H/H*). The scaling field H* is inversely proportional to temperature and f+ and f are th—e scaling functions for fields H above and below H*, respectively. The results are explained in terms of the Bean...
