Confidence Interval Estimation for the Common Mean of Several Zero-Inflated Gamma Distributions

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this study, we propose estimates for the confidence interval common mean of several zero-inflated gamma (ZIG) distributions based on fiducial generalized (GCI) and Bayesian highest posterior density (HPD) methods Jeffreys rule or uniform prior. Their performances in terms their coverage probabilities expected lengths are compared via a Monte Carlo simulation study. For almost all scenarios considered, results show that GCI performed better than HPD methods. Daily rainfall data from Chiang Mai Province, Thailand contains zero entries follows ZIG distribution is used to test efficacies real-world situations.

Adjusting for covariates in zero-inflated gamma and zero-inflated log-normal models for semicontinuous data

Semicontinuous data consist of a combination of a point-mass at zero and a positive skewed distribution. This type of non-negative data distribution is found in data from many fields, but presents unique challenges for analysis. Specifically, these data cannot be analyzed using positive distributions, but distributions that are unbounded are also likely a poor fit. Two-part models incorporate b...

Standardized likelihood ratio test for comparing several log-normal means and confidence interval for the common mean.

Standardized likelihood ratio test (SLRT) for testing the equality of means of several log-normal distributions is proposed. The properties of the SLRT and an available modified likelihood ratio test (MLRT) and a generalized variable (GV) test are evaluated by Monte Carlo simulation and compared. Evaluation studies indicate that the SLRT is accurate even for small samples, whereas the MLRT coul...

A Procedure for Building Confidence Interval on the Mean of Simulation Output Data

One of the existing methods to build a confidence interval (c.i.) for the mean response in a single steady state simulation system is the batch means method. This method, compared to the other existing methods (autoregressive representation, regenerative cycles, spectrum analysis, standardized time series), is quite easy to understand and to implement and performs relatively well. However, the ...

Confidence Interval Distributions 1

Methodological recommendations strongly emphasize the routine reporting of effect sizes and associated confidence intervals to express the uncertainty around the primary outcomes. Confidence intervals (CI) for unstandardized effects are easy to construct; However, CI’s for standardized measures such as the standardized mean difference (i.e., Cohen’s d), the Pearson product-moment correlation, p...

Consistent estimation of zero-inflated count models.

Applications of zero-inflated count data models have proliferated in health economics. However, zero-inflated Poisson or zero-inflated negative binomial maximum likelihood estimators are not robust to misspecification. This article proposes Poisson quasi-likelihood estimators as an alternative. These estimators are consistent in the presence of excess zeros without having to specify the full di...
