Confinement/deconfinement transition in the D0-brane matrix model — A signature of M-theory?

A bstract We study the confinement/deconfinement transition in D0-brane matrix model (often called BFSS model) and its one-parameter deformation (the BMN numerically by lattice Monte Carlo simulations. Our results confirm general expectations from dual string/M-theory picture for strong coupling. In particular, we observe confined phase model, which is a nontrivial consequence of M-theory picture. suggest that these models provide us with an ideal framework to Schwarzschild black hole, M-theory, furthermore, parameter region between type IIA superstring theory M-theory. detailed via simulations might be doable much smaller computational resources than previously expected.
