Constructal Optimizations of Liquid-Cooled Channels with Triangle or Square Sections in a Cylindrical Heating Body

Two new integrated models with heat source–heat sink are established, in which isothermal liquid cooling channels triangle or square sections are, respectively, embedded a cylindrical heating body uniform production. Based on constructal theory, under the conditions of fixed cylinder cross-sectional area and proportion channels, taking dimensionless maximum temperature entransy equivalent thermal resistance (EETR) as optimization goals, influences distribution dissipation capacity studied number center distance design variables, optimal constructs different proportions obtained. The results show that when given, there is an to make overall performance model reach its best, but distances for two indicators different. EETR decrease increases, almost same channels. triangular cross-section lower than constant distance, case EETR. can furnish theoretical guidelines devices needing efficient cooling.
