Formylation of amines.
Methods to convert amines to formamides are of interest due to the many uses of formamides as synthetic intermediates. These methods include stoichiometric reactions of formylating reagents and catalytic reactions with CO as the carbonyl source. This review discusses the reported stoichiometric and catalytic approaches for preparation of formamides.
متن کاملAn Efficient One Pot Procedure for Preparation of Symmetrical N,N'-Disubstituted Urea from Aromatic and Aliphatic Amines and Urea under Microwave Irradiation
A phosgene-free synthesis of symmetrical N,N'-disubstituted urea by the reaction of aromatic and aliphatic primary amines and urea promoted by microwave irradiation in the presence of a suitable energy-transfer solvent such as N-N-dimethylacetamide is described.
متن کاملClean and Green Approach for N-formylation of Amines using Formic acid under neat reaction condition
In recent years much effort has been carried out on formylations of amines. N-formyl compounds have been widely used in organic synthesis as protecting group of amines [1]. They are also used for synthesis of pharmaceutically important heterocylces [2-5]. Formamides are the Lewis bases, which are known to catalyze reactions such as allylations [6] and hydrosilylations [7] of carbonyl compounds....
متن کاملMethyl 2-(N-ethylmethanesulfonamido)benzoate
In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(11)H(15)NO(4)S, the S atom environment is distorted tetrahedral. The methoxy-carbonyl group is oriented at a dihedral angle of 11.8 (2)° with respect to the benzene ring. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers.

In the title compound, C(12)H(15)NO(6)S, the aromatic ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 64.76 (11) and 56.42 (13)° with respect to the planar methyl ester unit and the SO(2) group, respectively. The dihedral angle between the SO(2) group and the planar methoxy-carbonyl-methyl group is 50.42 (14)°. Intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of an eight-membered ring. In...
