Dark biportals at direct detection

چکیده

We present a study of the constraining power low-threshold, high-resolution direct-detection experiments for biportal simplified dark matter model. In scenario we consider here, and Standard Model particles interact through two vector mediators---one light one heavy with respect to momentum transfer in experiment. Interference effects at level scattering amplitudes can lead novel marked shape features differential recoil spectra, which are best exploited by high-resolution, low-threshold experiments. identify region parameter space our model where such dominant show that composite-target large atomic mass differences ideal explore these scenarios. develop profile likelihood approach analyze presently available future data. Using published results CRESST-III experiment projections sensitivities COSINUS experiment, constrain model, thereby showing potential an analysis class models exhibit nonstandard spectra.

Direct detection constraints on dark photon dark matter

Article history: Received 20 January 2015 Received in revised form 7 May 2015 Accepted 10 June 2015 Available online 11 June 2015 Editor: A. Ringwald Dark matter detectors built primarily to probe elastic scattering of WIMPs on nuclei are also precise probes of light, weakly coupled, particles that may be absorbed by the detector material. In this paper, we derive constraints on the minimal mod...

Direct detection of galactic halo dark matter.

The Milky Way galaxy contains a large, spherical component which is believed to harbor a substantial amount of unseen matter. Recent observations indirectly suggest that as much as half of this "dark matter" may be in the form of old, very cool white dwarfs, the remnants of an ancient population of stars as old as the galaxy itself. We conducted a survey to find faint, cool white dwarfs with la...

Direct Detection of Cold Dark Matter

We know from cosmological and astrophysical observations that more than 80% of the matter density in the Universe is non-luminous, or dark. This non-baryonic dark matter could be composed of neutral, heavy particles, which were non-relativistic, or ’cold’, when they decoupled from ordinary matter. I will review the direct detection methods of these hypothetical particles via their interactions ...

Direct Detection of Non-Chiral Dark Matter

Direct detection experiments rule out fermion dark matter that is a chiral representation of the electroweak gauge group. Non-chiral real, complex and singlet representations, however, provide viable fermion dark matter candidates. Although any one of these candidates will be virtually impossible to detect at the LHC, it is shown that they may be detected at future planned direct detection expe...
