Data Release 2 of S-PLUS: Accurate template-fitting based photometry covering ?1000 deg2 in 12 optical filters

The Southern Photometric Local Universe Survey (S-PLUS) is an ongoing survey of $\sim$9300 deg$^2$ in the southern sky a 12-band photometric system. This paper presents second data release (DR2) S-PLUS, consisting 514 tiles covering area 950 deg$^2$. has been fully calibrated using new calibration technique suitable for generation wide-field multi-filter surveys. consists $\chi^2$ minimisation to fit synthetic stellar templates already from other surveys, eliminating need standard stars and reducing duration by $\sim$15\%. We compare template-predicted S-PLUS instrumental magnitudes derive zero-points (ZPs). show that these ZPs can be further refined fitting 12 magnitudes, which better constrain models adding narrow-band information. use STRIPE82 region estimate ZP errors, are $\lesssim10$ mmags filters J0410, J0430, $g$, J0515, $r$, J0660, $i$, J0861 $z$; $\lesssim 15$ filter J0378; 25$ $u$ J0395. describe complete flow S-PLUS/DR2 observations final catalogues present brief characterisation data. that, minimum signal-to-noise threshold 3, depths DR2 range 19.9 mag 21.3 (measured Petrosian apertures), depending on filter. accessed website: https://splus.cloud}{https://splus.cloud.
