Degree-anonymization using edge rotations

نویسندگان

چکیده

The Min Anonymous-Edge-Rotation problem asks for an input graph G and a positive integer k to find minimum number of edge rotations that transform into such each vertex there are at least k−1 other vertices the same degree (a k-degree-anonymous graph). In this paper, we prove is NP-hard even k=n/q, where n order q any integer, q≥3. We argue under some constrains on edges in k, polynomial-time 2-approximable. Furthermore, show solvable polynomial time when k=n trees k=θ(n). Additionally, establish sufficient conditions solution exists.

Parameterized Inapproximability of Degree Anonymization

The Degree Anonymity problem arises in the context ofcombinatorial graph anonymization. It asks, given a graph G and twointegers k and s, whether G can be made k-anonymous with at most smodifications. Here, a graph is k-anonymous if the graph contains for everyvertex at least k − 1 other vertices of the same degree. Complementingrecent investigations on its computational com...

Edge-Matching Problems with Rotations

Edge-matching problems, also called edge matching puzzles, are abstractions of placement problems with neighborhood conditions. Pieces with colored edges have to be placed on a board such that adjacent edges have the same color. The problem has gained interest recently with the (now terminated) Eternity II puzzle, and new complexity results. In this paper we consider a number of settings which ...

Efficient Edge Anonymization of Large Social Graphs

Edges in a social graph may represent private information that needs to be protected. Due to their graph partition schemes, existing edge anonymization methods have several drawbacks, such as high utility loss and high computational overhead. In this paper, we present a new edge anonymization method, which partitions a graph using a new vertex equivalence relation called the neighbor-set equiva...

A Refined Complexity Analysis of Degree Anonymization in Graphs

Motivated by a strongly growing interest in graph anonymization, we study the NP-hard Degree Anonymity problem asking whether a graph can be made k-anonymous by adding at most a given number of edges. Herein, a graph is k-anonymous if for every vertex in the graph there are at least k−1 other vertices of the same degree. Our algorithmic results shed light on the performance quality of a popular...

The Complexity of Degree Anonymization by Vertex Addition

Motivated by applications in privacy-preserving data publishing, we study the problem of making an undirected graph k-anonymous by adding few vertices (together with some incident edges). That is, after adding these “dummy vertices”, for every vertex degree d appearing in the resulting graph, there shall be at least k vertices with degree d. We explore three variants of vertex addition (justifi...
