Design and Analysis of a Vibration Isolator with Adjustable High Static–Low Dynamic Stiffness

Abstract A new adjustable high static–low dynamic stiffness vibration isolator is presented to improve the effective isolation frequency bandwidth. Firstly, finite element simulation of electromagnetic positive device and negative one carried out. Through static analysis, mathematical expressions force–displacement–current stiffness–displacement–current are derived. The requirements that system works at quasi-zero-stiffness condition near equilibrium position obtained. influences different parameters on force transmission rate investigated with harmonic balance method. Finally, experimental platform built, performance experiment conducted. Results show has a wider range lower peak transmissibility than traditional one.
