چکیده
Magnetostrictive transducers are commonly used as actuators and sonar transducers, in remote non-destructive evaluation. Their use wireless thermometry is relatively unexplored. Since magnetostriction-based sensors passive, they could potentially enable long-term near-field thermometry. While the temperature sensitivity of resonance frequency magnetostrictive has been reported previous studies, origin has, however, not elucidated. Here, we identify material properties that determine ways to improve well detection technique. Using a combination analytical computational methods, systematically directly influence coefficient (TCF). We first experimentally measure shift due changes Metglas strip be 0.03% K−1. insights from theory, then demonstrate fivefold improvement TCF by using Terfenol place sensor material. further an alternate sensing technique does require measuring frequency, consequently reducing instrument complexity. This work provides general framework analyze materials scheme for

Develpoment and Analysis of a Self-sensing Magnetostrictive Actuator Design
A self-sensing magnetostrictive actuator design based on a linear systems model of magnetostrictive transduction for Terfenol-D is developed and analyzed. Selfsensing, or the ability of a transducer to sense its own motion as it is being driven, has been demonstrated for electromechanical transducers such as moving voice coil loudspeakers and, most recently, piezoelectric distributed moment act...

Adequate coverage is one of the main problems for distributed wireless sensor networks and The effectiveness of that highly depends on the sensor deployment scheme. Given a finite number of sensors, optimizing the sensor deployment will provide sufficient sensor coverage and save power of sensors for movement to target location to adequate coverage. In this paper, we apply fuzzy logic system to...

متن کاملWireless sensing without sensors
Motion and intrusion detection are often cited as wireless sensor network (WSN) applications with typical configurations comprising clusters of wireless nodes equipped with motion sensors to detect human motion. Currently, WSN performance is subjected to several constraints, namely radio irregularity and finite on-board computation/energy resources. Radio irregularity in radio frequency (RF) pr...
