چکیده

Abstract The critical nitrogen (N) dilution curve, which expresses whole-plant N concentration as a function of shoot biomass, can be used management diagnostic tool for cereals. objectives this research were to develop curve wheat grown in calcareous soils and formulate model estimating fertilizer requirement crop at different growth stages. Six fertilization rates (0–250 kg ha −1 ) induce variability plant throughout six site-years (three locations West Delta Egypt two seasons [2020/21-2021/22]). Aboveground biomass ( W ; Mg DM [dry matter] c g DM) determined on five sampling dates during the growing season. A was developed as: $${N}_{\mathrm{c}}=50.141 {\mathrm{W}}^{-0.424}$$ N c = 50.141 W - 0.424 . then topdressing strategy. study relied nutrition index inferred from based uptake, instead relying single recovery efficiency coefficient, variable developed. This approach increased hypothetical requirements low application while decreased high rates, implying that successfully estimate supplemental application. strategy will provide solid basis precisely managing fertilizer, though challenge ahead farm level determining actual concentration.

Development of a Critical Nitrogen Dilution Curve Based on Leaf Area Duration in Wheat

Precise quantification of plant nitrogen (N) nutrition status is essential for crop N management. The concept of critical N concentration (Nc) has been widely used for assessment of plant N status. This study aimed to develop a new winter wheat Nc dilution curve based on leaf area duration (LAD). Four field experiments were performed on different cultivars with different N fertilization modes i...

Nitrogen Fertilizer Management in Dryland Wheat Cropping Systems

Wheat is the most widely cultivated food crop in the world, which provides nutrition to most of the world population and is well adapted to a wide range of environmental conditions. Timely and efficient rates of nitrogen (N) application are vital for increasing wheat grain yield and protein content, and maintaining environmental sustainability. The goal of this study was to investigate the effe...

Chlorophyll meter – a decision-making tool for nitrogen application in wheat under light soils

Nitrogen (N) in plants is generally diagnosed by a soil test and plant tissue analysis. However, such analyses are costly in terms of time and money and are not easily accessible byresearchers and extension workers, let alone farmers. Alternative cost-effective methods arerequired for rapid analysis of the N status of crops and to guide N management in wheat. Theobjective of this study was to as...

Development of a Critical Nitrogen Dilution Curve of Double Cropping Rice in South China

The concept of critical nitrogen (Nc) concentration can be implemented to diagnose in-season plant nitrogen (N) status for optimizing N fertilizer management. The Nc dilution curves have been established for rice (Oryza sativa L.) grown in different climatic regions, yet no attempt has been made to develop the Nc dilution curve for double cropping rice regions. This study was undertaken to deve...
